Monel K500 high neck flange

 

Monel K500 alloy with high strength, corrosion resistance and non-magnetic [1] the excellent mechanical properties, but also has the same corrosion resistance monel 400. Can be used as a pump shaft material, suitable for a bad high sulfur and high wax oil layer under the geological mining conditions of work.

Because the alloy plastic - no brittle transition temperature, so it is suitable for all kinds of cryogenic equipment. This alloy is mainly used in the pump shaft and the valve stem, conveyor, scraper, oil well drill collar, elastic parts, valve, etc. Used in petroleum, chemical, shipbuilding, pharmaceutical, electronics sector.

Chemical composition

The chemical composition of the alloy is generally the same as the monel 400, the biggest difference is that contains 2.3 3.15% A1 and 0.30 1.00% of Ti, in addition to the organizational characteristics of the alloy with diffuse Ni3 (A1, Ti) precipitation, precipitation phase other same as monel alloy 400.

Mechanical properties 

The alloy has no plastic - brittle transition temperature, so it is suitable for manufacturing various cryogenic equipment, welding can improve the strength of the alloy, but reduce the plastic alloy. Therefore, in order to maintain a high plasticity, monel K500 alloy need to heat treatment after welding.
